May 15 (Renewables Now) - UK-based solar and energy storage project developer Lightrock Power on Tuesday said it has completed the sale of a US solar portfolio with a capacity of 350 MW.

The portfolio consists of four utility-scale, ground-mounted projects in different stages of development. They are expected to be operational in 2021-2022, when they are expected to generate enough power for about 60,000 US homes.

The buyer of the portfolio and financial details about the deal were not revealed.

"Over the last two years we have secured 12 strategic sites in the USA, totalling 750 MW. By adding to the US team, we intend to continue on this trajectory," co-founder Christopher Sowerbutts commented.

At present, Lightrock Power is developing another 30 projects across Europe and North America, with a combined capacity of over 2.2 GW.
