September 7 (Renewables Now) - French green hydrogen company Lhyfe has initiated production at its new facility in Bouin, Vendee, which runs on wind power generated by on-site turbines.

Lhyfe reported producing 627 kilograms of renewable hydrogen just a year after the foundation stone was laid for that particular site. The company noted it is now ready for industrial-scale production to begin in late September for new partners whose names are yet to be disclosed.

The French firm expects to produce 300 kg of green hydrogen per day before ramping up to a daily production capacity of 1 tonne in the coming months.

According to Lhyfe, this industrial production plant “is a unique technical achievement and the first of its kind in the world.”
