October 21 (Renewables Now) - Renewables investor Leyline Renewable Capital has secured USD 150 million (EUR 134.3m) in funds from private equity firm Newlight Partners LP to invest in pre-construction renewable energy projects, mostly solar.

The investment will enable New York-based Leyline to identify suitable projects across the US and provide development-stage debt and equity for their implementation. Its financial support mainly targets what it says is the critical early stage of projects, it said on Thursday.

Leyline says it has developed, financed and/or constructed more than a gigawatt of renewable energy projects worth more than USD 2 billion in financing.

Leyline’s portfolio includes utility-scale solar projects and anaerobic digesters processing organic waste into renewable natural gas.
