November 13 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar backsheet supplier Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co Ltd has released a new transparent mesh backsheet for bifacial modules, the company said on Monday.

The product, jointly developed with DuPont China Ltd and certified by TUeV Rheinland, is expected to help reduce the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) of bifacial systems, according to the announcement.

The new offering adds a reflective mesh on the blank areas between the solar cells in the modules, thus increasing its output by 5-6 W. At the same time, it provides protection for the inner layer of the backsheet. The company says that the mesh sheet is lightweight and breathable, with high light transmittance.

Jolywood and DuPont China are now also working together on the development of photovoltaic (PV) products, the announcement says.

Apart from the newly-launched mesh backsheets, Jolywood produces N-type mono bifacial solar cells, which have a conversion efficiency that surpasses 22.5%.
