John Cockerill to supply 25 MW of electrolysers for Taiwanese projects

Belgium-based engineering group John Cockerill has signed an agreement to supply 25 MW of electrolysers for projects in Taiwan.

The five electrolysers, each of 5 MW, will be used in the semi-conductor industry. They will be partly powered by renewable energy, which will help to save 20,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions a year.

The company has sold 34 MW of electrolysers so far in 2020 for use in various industries, according to the statement.

"In a post-Covid world facing challenges of an unprecedented magnitude, we are convinced that green hydrogen, a 0-carbon-emission energy, has to take a greater part in the global energy mix," John Cockerill's head of renewables, Raphael Tilot, commented.
