Oct 1, 2013 - Chinese firm JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) said Monday it would deliver 20 MW of solar modules to the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) for a project in Hebei Province.
The photovoltaics (PV) maker will supply the equipment in the last quarter of this year.
SGCC, the state-owned group chosen by the State Council to carry out government authorised investment activities, is building three solar systems in Hebei’s Zhangbei city with a combined capacity of 60 MW. The solar parks will use different technologies coupled with smart transmission and storage. The aim of the project is to demonstrate the predictable and reliable generation of renewable energy on the grid.
SGCC’s solar parks in Hebei represent the second stage of China's National Wind/PV/Energy Storage and Transmission Joint Demonstration Project, estimated at about CNY 12 billion (USD 1.96bn/EUR 1.44bn). It involves the installation of 500 MW of wind, 100 MW of solar and 110 MW of power storage capacity.
Last month Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Yingli Green Energy Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:YGE) unveiled a contract to deliver 28 MW of modules for SGCC’s project.
