JinkoSolar to ship 187 MW for Quantum projects in Japan

Chinese solar manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) said today it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Quantum Power GK for 187 MW of projects in Japan.

Under the terms of the deal, the Chinese company’s local unit, Jinko Japan, will supply 187 MW of its 275-Wp modules for three schemes in Ibaraki, Gunma and Mie prefectures. Shipments are seen to begin in the final quarter of 2017.

Quantum Power is part of the Quantum Group, which offers project development, engineering, financing, EPC contracting and asset management services for renewable energy projects.

The third project covered by the agreement, located in Matsuzaka, Mie prefecture, is the largest integrated renewable project for Quantum. The specific solar park is expected to generate 127,500 MWh of electricity a year. It should start construction next month and go online by November 2018, JinkoSolar said.
