March 6 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar module maker JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) today responded to allegations that it has infringed certain patents of a Korean rival, saying that the complaints are without technical or legal merit.

Hanwha Q Cells announced on Tuesday that subsidiaries in the US and Germany have taken legal actions against JinkoSolar, Longi Solar and REC Group over the unlawful import and sale of patent-infringing photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules.

JinkoSolar said today that it categorically refutes Hanwha's allegations and that the Chinese company will take legal actions to defend itself. It is currently working closely with its legal counsel and technical advisors and is reviewing all legal avenues available, according to an announcement.

This case is not expected to affect JinkoSolar’s normal operations, it noted.
