JinkoSolar modules get JPEC certification in Japan

Dec 11, 2013 - Chinese solar products maker JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) said Tuesday its solar modules had been included in the Japan Photovoltaic Expansion Centre (JPEC) list, allowing it to receive subsidies in the country.

The JPEC certification, awarded by the Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association, also certifies that the company’s modules can be used in small rooftop photovoltaic (PV) projects. It guarantees that the products meet the country’s standards and safety requirements and are compatible with the local electricity grid.

The certification will allow JinkoSolar to boost its product offerings so as to respond to growing demand in Japan.

JinkoSolar’s modules have previously received certifications by the Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET) and JISQ. Last month, the company reported a net loss of CNY 103.5 million (USD 17m/EUR 12.4m) for the third quarter of 2013 against a loss of CNY 114.5 million a year ago. Revenue stood at CNY 1.96 billion, up 11.2% quarter-on-quarter and 47.6% year-over-year.
