JinkoSolar equips Kenyan solar plant

December 4 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) announced on Monday it has supplied 55.7 MW of solar modules to the Garissa Solar Power Plant in Kenya.

The photovoltaic (PV) facility is a KES-13-billion (USD 126.7m/EUR 111m) project of the country's Rural Electrification Authority (REA), with financing from China.

Located in Barki Village, Garissa County, the solar plant has been commissioned last month, according to local media. One of the largest of its kind in central and eastern Africa, it has a power purchase agreement (PPA) to sell its output to local company Kenya Power.
