January 17 (Renewables Now) - JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) said today it broke the previous world record for the maximum conversion efficiency of P-type PERC and N-type HOT bifacial solar modules.

Specifically, the company has achieved a 21.82% conversion efficiency with a P-type PERC module and 22.49% with an N-type HOT bifacial panel. The results were verified during testing carried out by TUeV Rheinland.

JinkoSolar said it applied newly developed ARC and advanced metallisation technologies, as well as existing proprietary technologies to its large-area N-type HOT cell design in order to substantially improve efficiency. In addition, it incorporated new Tiling Ribbon (TR) technology into the design.

According to the company, these modules help cut the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE).
