Japan's Chubu Electric to launch 8 MW solar power facility
(ADPnews) - Sep 23, 2010 - Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power Company Inc (TYO:9502) said yesterday it plans to build an 8 MW solar power plant in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan.
In annual terms, Chubu plans to generate about 8.4 million kWh of electricity and cut CO2 emissions by about 4,000 tonnes. The company did not provide the cost of the project, but said that it will apply for government subsidies.
Construction works are to kick off in the business year starting April 2012, while the facility is seen to go online two years later.
