India’s SECI seeks bids for 100-MW PV scheme with storage

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) said Monday it is accepting applications from developers interested in a 100-MW solar project with a large-scale energy storage system.

The Tender Search Code (TSC) for the request for service (RfS) is SECI-2016-TN000041.

The grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) plant and the battery system will be installed at the Kadapa solar park, Andhra Pradesh state. The project is part of Phase-II, Batch-IV, Tranche-V of the country’s National Solar Mission (NSM) programme.

In February this year it was announced that SECI is planning a tender for 750 MW of PV capacity equipped with 100 MW of energy storage at the Ananthapuramu solar park in the district of Kadapa. Three months later, Canada-based solar projects developer SkyPower Global and Chinese firm BYD Co Ltd (HKG:1211) expressed interested in submitting a joint bid.
