The New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) is seeking proposals for the construction of 35 MW of rooftop solar plants in the southeastern Indian state.
The empanelment tender is for projects with capacities of between 1 kW and 500 kW, to be developed at various locations across Andhra Pradesh. NREDCAP will await proposals by May 3, 2018.
Selected candidates will be responsible for the supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and operation of the rooftop photovoltaic (PV) arrays. According to the tender requirements, 15 MW of the projects will be for government-owned buildings, while the remaining 20 MW of capacity will be installed atop residential, social and institutional facilities.
Empanelment of bidders will be finalised depending on the cost of the PV system. It will be done in three separate categories -- for projects of 1 kW-10 kW; 11 kW-100 kW; and above 100 kW, respectively.
Developers of projects involving installation of rooftop PV on residential, institutional, and social sector buildings will benefit from central financial assistance of up to 30% of the benchmark cost of the projects. Meanwhile, achievement-linked incentives will be available for projects atop government buildings.
The capacity will be added on a turnkey basis under the country’s net metering policy, NREDCAP said.
