India wraps up 257 MW of solar power capacity under solar mission
Sep 4, 2012 - The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) today said that as much as 257 MW of solar power capacity has been commissioned in India under the phase 1 batch 1 of the country's National Solar Mission as of August 30.
The installed capacity consists of 255 MW of photovoltaic (PV) and 2.5 MW of concentrating solar power (CSP) plants. Still, as much as 38 MW of PV and 497.5 MW of CSP capacity has to be commissioned under batch 1 of the programme as well as 350 MW of PV capacity under its batch 2.
Of the total installed solar power capacity under the national mission, 125 MW has been commissioned as part of the large-scale PV sub-programme, 81.55 MW under the rooftop PV and small solar power generation programme (RPSSGP) and 48 MW through the migration scheme.
