Construction starts on 34-MW wind expansion project in Lower Austria
May 25, 2022 18:44 CESTMay 13 (Renewables Now) - US solar technology and energy services provider SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) and IKEA US will partner to offer home solar products in the US, the firms said on Thursday.
The offering is called Home Solar with IKEA and is expected to be launched in the autumn in select California markets. Members of the IKEA Family customer loyalty programme will have the opportunity to buy solar products for electricity generation and storage, available through SunPower.
The service is intended to be rolled out to more IKEA locations in the future.
The initiative is supportive of the furniture retailer’s efforts to become circular and climate positive by 2030.
SunPower, meanwhile, recently reported a narrower first-quarter GAAP net loss from continuing operations of USD 2.2 million (EUR 2.1m) and a record backlog and pipeline as more homeowners turn to solar as a source for a more sustainable power supply.
