IEC certifies Upsolar's PV modules with Solrif frames

Aug 22, 2012 - China-based provider of photovoltaic (PV) modules Upsolar on Wednesday said it has obtained two certifications from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for its 60-cell modules that feature Solrif frames.

The IEC certified the modules through the Italian certification authority ICIM. The certification will help Upsolar to also get certified by France's Centre Scientifique et Technique du Batiment (CSTB), which will allow project developers using the Upsolar modules to access the local feed-in tariff scheme.

Solrif frames are manufactured by Swiss metal construction company Ernst Schweizer AG.

CSTB has already certified numerous products in Upsolar's portfolio, the module maker said.
