Aug 17, 2012 - German photovoltaic (PV) systems provider IBC Solar AG said yesterday its Turkish subsidiary had completed a 200-kW solar PV power installation in Konya in Turkey's central Anatolia region.
According to the company, this is the first grid-connected PV project in the country.
The facility was built under a contract with regional power distribution company Meram Elektrik Dagıtım AS (MEDAS). IBC Solar acted as general contractor with responsibility for the entire engineering, procurement and construction process. The system, which includes 864 IBC PolySol 235 DS modules and 12 inverters, is expected to produce about 300,000 kWh of electricity per year, enough to power some 160 Turkish households.
