IA Global becomes Asura Development on greener strategy
Oct 12, 2012 - Japan-focused construction firm IA Global Inc (PINK:IAGI) said Thursday it had changed its name to Asura Development Group Inc with immediate effect to reflect its increased focus on clean technology and solar installations.
The Arizona-headquartered company now plans to pursue both residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, which in Japan account for 80% of solar generation, along with commercial-scale projects for which Asura will seek merger and acquisition deals. The company will also integrate solar power into its home development projects.
Asura said it had refocused its operations on construction and clean technology following the nuclear crisis in Japan that started in March 2011. That same devastating event prompted the Asian country to boost the share of renewables in power generation and cut the use of nuclear energy. In July this year the Japanese government launched attractive feed-in tariffs for all renewables, with the tariff for solar power being JPY 42 (USD 0.54/EUR 0.41) per kWh.
