Hydrous ethanol prices fall in 18 Brazilian states, rise in seven
Oct 5, 2011 - Hydrous ethanol prices at Brazil's fuel stations declined in 18 states and the Federal District of Brasilia, rose in seven and remained stable in one last week, data released by Brazil's oil industry watchdog ANP showed.
According to ANP, the average price of ethanol in the country slipped 0.65% from the week before to BRL 2 (USD 1.076/EUR 0.809) a litre.
The price of petrol (gasoline), in turn, dropped in 15 states, rose in 10 and in Brasilia, and remained stable in one state in the period.
The country's petrol prices shrank 0.4% week-on-week to BRL 2.733 a litre on average.
Last week, ethanol continued to be more competitive than petrol only in Goias and Mato Grosso states.
