(SeeNews) - Jan 29, 2013 - Hydrous ethanol prices at Brazil's fuel stations rose in 19 states and in the Federal District of Brasilia last week and slipped in six states, data released by Brazil's oil industry watchdog ANP showed.
The prices remained stable only in northern Amazonas state.
In southeastern Sao Paulo state, which is the country's biggest producer and consumer of the fuel, the average price of ethanol added 0.49% week-on-week to BRL 1.830 (USD 0.917/EUR 0.682) per litre, ANP noted.
Last week ethanol continued to be more competitive than petrol (gasoline) only there and in central-western Mato Grosso states. However, ethanol lost its competitiveness over petrol in central Goias state, where it was a bargain for a few months now.
