(SeeNews) - Oct 30, 2013 - The share of hydropower generation in the Brazilian energy mix is seen to fall to 65% in 2022 from 71% in 2012, according to the country's new 10-year energy expansion plan PDE 2022, developed by the state-run energy research company EPE.<br /> However, 34 GW are planned to be added within the start-up of large projects such as the 11.223-GW Belo Monte.<br /> In the next 10 years, the share of the renewable sources in the country's energy mix will grow to 85.8% from 83.8% in 2012. The increase will be result of the growth in the wind power production, whose share is slated to increase to 9.5% in 2022 from 1.5% at end-2012. Brazil's installed wind capacity is seen to reach 17.4 GW in 2022, up from 1.8 GW in 2012, EPE noted.
