RWE brings online 16.8-MW Polish wind farm
May 25, 2022 7:51 CESTNovember 30 (Renewables Now) - Indian government-owned salt production company Hindustan Salts Ltd is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for up to 5 GW of solar power projects in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
The bidding deadline in both tenders is December 13, 2021. The proposals will be opened on the following day, according to the EOI publication on Saturday.
In Rajasthan, the Indian firm’s subsidiary Sambhar Salts is looking to develop an “ultra-mega” solar photovoltaic (PV) project that will add up to 4 GW of generation capacity at a site within the Sambhar Lake Area in Jaipur municipality. Meanwhile, the salt producer is planning to install an up to 1-GW solar park in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district.
The capacity will be deployed on land owned by Hindustan Salts. The selected developers will take care of installing the capacity, securing all permits and procuring the power through power purchase agreements (PPAs). The successful bidders will sign 25-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts after the plants go online.
