June 24 (Renewables Now) - Russia’s Hevel Group has increased its annual production of heterojunction solar modules to 260 MW from 160 MW, the solar company said Monday.
Hevel has completed the ramping up at the Novocheboksarsk factory, which, starting today, will also begin the production of bifacial 5-busbar PV cells and modules with 380 W front sheet capacity. The back sheet adds 10% to the output, the Russian company explained.
The total investment in the expansion of the production line amounted to RUB 2.6 billion (USD 41.3m/EUR 36.3m). Russia's Industrial Development Fund provided RUB 500 million of the total amount as a loan, while RUB 1 billion came from the Fund for the Development of Single-industry Towns.
