Sep 12 (Renewables Now) - Metallization paste producer Heraeus Photovoltaics will be collaborating with photovoltaic (PV) ribbon product maker Ulbrich of Austria on the development of innovative products for solar module assembly and packaging.

The subsidiary of Germany’s Heraeus Holding GmbH said on Monday that it will use the joint development partnership to further expand its renewable energy operations through the creation of a new product line with materials for PV module manufacturing.

“The announcement of this cooperation with Ulbrich is an important step which could significantly lower the cost per watt for pv module industry,” said Andre Kobelt, the chief commercial and technology officer for Heraeus.

Only a week ago, Heraeus said it will partner with Chinese solar manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) in the development of new generation Super PV cells with increased efficiency and lower costs. As part of the collaboration, the two companies will also explore energy markets along regions from China's Belt and Road Initiative, whose goal is to strengthen China’s economic ties with Eurasian countries.
