Sweden-based Helios Nordic Energy AB, a portfolio company of Norwegian renewable energy investor Magnora ASA (OSE:MGN), said that it has handed over two solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Sweden with an estimated combined production of 113 GWh, to their owner, Danish solar firm Nordic Solar A/S.
The projects are ready to enter a more detailed planning stage and a tendering process after collecting all required permits and obtaining a ready-to-build status. They already have a grid connection agreement with local operator Linde Energi.
The first project is designed for a capacity of up to 92 MWp and is one of the largest official PV solar projects to enter the construction phase in the country. It is located near the Hultsfred airport in southern Sweden.
The second one is projected to accommodate for an installed capacity of up to 21 MWp. It is based in the estate of Medinge, north of Örebro.
The Hultsfred and Medinge projects are part of Nordic Solar’s agreement to buy from Helios a portfolio of four solar projects with a combined capacity of 220 MWp.
“We are very happy to enter Sweden and to be prepared to get started on building two out of the four solar parks we have planned for the southern region,” Nordic Solar’s CEO Nikolaj Holtet Hoff said.
