Helios Energy Europe to invest EUR 150m in PV modules production in Japan - report
Aug 14, 2013 - Spanish renewable energy firm Helios Energy Europe plans to invest EUR 150 million (USD 198.7m) in the production of photovoltaic (PV) modules in Japan.
The Spanish firm has agreed to set up a joint venture (JV) wit the Japanese company Lohas Holding to carry out the project, news agency Europa Press said.
Helios Energy Europe has already invested EUR 4 million in the installation of a 2 MW power plant for pyramidal glass PV modules in Miyawaka, Japan. The Spanish company received a financial support by the Catalan agency for competitiveness support ACCIO through its business promotion centre in Tokyo.
Helios Energy Europe produces PV modules with a combined capacity of 50 million Watts at its plant in Badalona and exports a total 95% of its entire output.
