Canada-based solar modules manufacturer Heliene Inc today announced it will open a 100-MW factory in Riviera Beach, Florida, its second in the US and third in all of North America.
The company said in a statement that so far it has been designing and producing its solar modules in Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. The new facility, Heliene says, will be the only one in the US to manufacture “super high-efficiency” heterojunction solar cell modules for residential and commercial applications. It is expected to start operations next month and will employ more than 60 people in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering and logistics.
At the 75,000-square-foot site, Heliene will make its 66-cell, 370-W heterojunction module that uses multiwire technology and 18 round microwires in place of traditional flat busbars. The company is already accepting orders for this product.
