German photovoltaic (PV) modules maker Heckert Solar GmbH announced on Tuesday it will expand its annual production capacity to 300 MWp from the current 240 MWp.
The company anticipates to complete this upgrade by the end of next year’s first quarter in order to boost competitiveness and lower costs. Heckert did not mention how much it expects to spend on the expansion project.
Furthermore, the firm is now shifting production from four to five-busbar cell technology to enhance efficiency.
Earlier this month, the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagetur) announced the start of Germany's third solar power tender for 200 MW of capacity. Developers interested in building large solar farms in the country can submit bids by December 1. The Bundesnetzagetur has set the maximum bidding level at EUR 0.1109/kWh (USD 0.127).
