Hareon Solar to install 600 MWp of rooftop PV in Hebei, China
Jul 28, 2014 - Chinese photovoltaic (PV) equipment maker Hareon Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHA:600401) said Friday it will invest some CNY 6 billion (USD 970m/EUR 722m) in 600 MWp of solar rooftop power projects in China’s Hebei province.
The company has entered into a cooperation agreement with Xingtai City’s Development and Reform Commission to establish a subsidiary, which over the next three years will invest in the distributed generation schemes. The first phase of the project envisages 300 MWp of distributed solar power generation capacity.
The commission will back the project by providing certain incentives and support when it comes to land and infrastructure issues, among others. The company sees the new PV scheme as an opportunity to expand and achieve its long-term plans, it noted.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hareon Solar and the local authority plan to also cooperate with local companies, which engage in the research and development (R&D) of solar and distributed generation technologies and other strategic investors.
