Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam seeks 500 MW of grid-connected solar PV

January 5 (Renewables Now) - Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has issued a request for selection (RfS) seeking to purchase power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in the Indian state of Gujarat.

The selection will be carried out as part of a competitive bidding process followed by reverse e-auction. The online bid submission deadline is February 3, while offline submission must be made by February 5, 2022. Technical bid opening is planned for February 7, 2022.

A pre-bid meeting will be scheduled on January 18, 2022 through video conferencing.

Successful bidders are expected to enter into 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with GUVNL. Their projects will be deemed eligible if they utilise commercially-established technologies, regardless of whether they feature crystalline silicon or thin-film panels.

The solar plants are allowed to be colocated with existing grid-connected wind farms.
