Portuguese renewable project developer and power producer GreenVolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) has sealed a contract to supply renewable electricity for the Polish operations of Portugal-based glass packaging manufacturer BA Glass Group.
The companies have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a 15-year term, GreenVolt said on Monday. While the contracted volumes were not specified, the power producer estimates that the annual supply to its client will be equal to the average electricity consumption of 4,800 homes.

Under the deal, BA Glass will procure electricity from wind and solar power plants in Poland from the fourth quarter of 2023. GreenVolt will meet its commitment through August Energy – a joint venture of its full-owned unit V-Ridium Power and German asset manager KGAL.
“This agreement with BA Glass in Poland reinforces GreenVolt’s position as a reference operator in the development and operation of renewable energy projects in Europe plus its ability to respond with tailored solutions to the needs of its customers and to help them to achieve their decarbonisation goals,” said Joao Manso Neto, CEO of GreenVolt.
Lisbon-based GreenVolt operates in the wind, solar and biomass segments. The company says on its website it has a 5.8-GW development pipeline of wind and solar projects, of which 4 GW are in an advanced or ready-to-build stage.
