January 14 (Renewables Now) - US solar power developer Greenskies Renewable Energy LLC has become Greenskies Clean Energy after being acquired by asset management firm JLC Infrastructure, the companies announced on Monday.

The rebranding makes it possible for Greenskies to focus on clean-energy solutions, such as solar power, energy storage and emerging technologies, while also keeping its track record and experienced team, the company said. In addition, the financial support from JLC Infrastructure will help step up Greenskies' expansion in the commercial and industrial and municipal sectors.

Greenskies has an over 100-MW portfolio with contracted solar projects due for completion over the coming 18 months as well as a pipeline of over 500 MW in different stages of development.

With the acquisition of Greenskies, JLC expands its portfolio of behind-the-meter investments. Stanley Chin, CEO of Greenskies, meanwhile commented that the partnership with JLC will provide the solar development firm with funds needed to improve its services and further expand its development capabilities in the "next phase of growth."

KeyBanc Capital Markets advised Greenskies on the transaction, while Winston & Strawn LLP acted as JLC Infrastructure's advisor.
