Jul 19, 2012 - Spanish renewable energy monitoring company GreenPowerMonitor said Wednesday it had opened two regional centres in the Indian cities of Mumbai and New Delhi as part of its international expansion drive.
India is particularly attractive for the company as it offers great growth potential. Under the government’s National Solar Mission, 20,000 MW of solar capacity should be installed by 2022.
GreenPowerMonitor’s international expansion starts from Italy, where it monitors over 450 MW of solar projects. The company is also present in Greece and the US where it won contracts for 80 MW of solar power capacity in only one year. Now the company eyes an expansion in emerging markets. Apart from India, GreenPowerMonitor plans to open new offices in South America and South Africa as well.
Currently the company monitors over 900 solar photovoltaic projects with combined capacity of 1.2 GW worldwide.
