Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Aug 8-12)
Aug 12, 2022 17:43 CESTJanuary 13 (Renewables Now) - German developer Greencells GmbH will expand its solar PV portfolio in Greece to about 600 MWp in the first half of 2022, it said on Wednesday.
It said that it is currently in advanced negotiation and permitting stages to make the growth happen. The overall portfolio consists of three individual project clusters, including a 250-MWp solar-plus-storage hybrid scheme.
The construction of all projects is expected to commence in 2023, Greencells said.
“The implementation of our growth strategy in Europe is progressing very well. In some ways, the successes in Poland and Hungary served as a blueprint for the successful market entry in Greece and the rapid growth in this prospering photovoltaic market,” CEO Andreas Hoffmann added.
According to the German firm, Greece is ranked sixth among solar markets in the EU, while country’s potential PV project pipeline currently stands at about 85 GWp.
