Greece's PPC to hold 100-MW renewables tender by end-2021 - report

PPC Renewables SA, the green energy arm of Greek utility PPC SA (ATH:PPC), is considering launching a tender for 100 MW of renewable energy projects by the end of the year.

The plan was announced by the company’s CEO Konstantinos Mavros at the Athens bourse’s first energy conference this week. Quoted by Energypress, Mavros has said that one of the projects included in the bundle will be a large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) park. A big wind scheme is also on the map, unnamed sources have told the local news portal.

Separately, PPC Renewables intends to set up a consortium for investing in offshore wind projects as part of its ambitions to enhance its positions on the green energy market, the CEO has said during an annual sustainability forum held by advisory group Capital Link.

According to the report, PPC Renewables is meanwhile working to seal what will be Greece’s first power purchase agreement (PPA) with industrial consumers. A 50-MW deal for a solar park in Megalopoli, Peloponnese, is expected to be sealed in July.
