September 18 (Renewables Now) - Energy systems provider GP JOULE announced today it will develop and install two small onshore wind parks in Chile totalling 18 MW.

More specifically, the company plans to build the two 9-MW wind farms in the regions of Bio Bio and Los Lagos, respectively. It said that land for the projects has already been secured. According to co-founder and managing director Ove Petersen, the next major milestone is to get the needed green light.

GP JOULE will work with Energy Kitchen GmbH, which will act as on-site partner due to its expertise in South America.

With about 200 MW of onshore wind and 500 MW of photovoltaic projects already realised, GP JOULE currently has about 1.5 GW in its pipeline.
