Chinese turbine manufacturer Goldwind (SHE:002202) has received an order to supply 82.8 MW of turbines for compatriot CGN Energy's wind expansion project in Brazil's Piaui state.
Goldwind is set to deliver 18 units of its GW155 model turbines, CGN Energy told Reuters on Friday. This agreement is the first in the country for turbines from the 4S series, where the capacity is around 4 MW per unit.
Delivery is set to commence earlier next year, bringing Goldwind's total installed capacity in Brazil to almost 500 MW.
In September, CGN's local branch CGN Brasil Energia e Participacoes SA announced it will invest BRL 444 million (USD 77.3m/EUR 66.2m) in the 82.8-MW expansion of its 195-MW Lagoa do Barro wind power complex. At the time, no information on the equipment supplier was given.
