September 9 (Renewables Now) - Two solar portfolios with a combined capacity of 172 MWp developed by Malta-based GoldenPeaks Capital in Poland have received mezzanine financing from The Berenberg Green Energy Junior Debt Fund III, the fund's advisor, German lender Berenberg Bank, said today.

The funding will be used for the construction of the two 86-MWp portfolios, each of which consists of 1-MWp solar projects. All the projects have secured Contracts for Difference (CfDs) from the Polish Energy Regulatory Office.

Construction of the first portfolio, dubbed Bravo, is expected to be completed soon. The other portfolio, Alpha, is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2022. Together, the two portfolios will generate power to cover the needs of about 56,200 households and save 130,361 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).

The two portfolios represent GoldenPeaks Capital's first investment in Poland, where the developer plans to invest more.
