Global Solar Energy to expand BIPV module output in Germany
Oct 4, 2011 - US photovoltaic (PV) products maker Global Solar Energy Inc yesterday said it would boost the output of its building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) module production plant in Germany.
The company started manufacturing its PowerFlex BIPV modules designed for roofing applications at its 35-MW factory in Germany last month. It plans to add a third shift at the plant, which currently operates on two shifts.
Global Solar said also that it had signed multi-year, multi-MW supply deals with major roofing and building companies worldwide and was finalising contracts with other channel partners in Europe, the US and Asia.
According to Global Solar, its PowerFlex BIPV modules are more powerful and cost-effective compared with competing products and do not require roofing hardware.
