January 9 (Renewables Now) - German solar developer and contactor ib vogt GmbH announced today it had sold its 180-MWp Bienvenida photovoltaic (PV) project in Spain to insurance group Talanx AG (ETR:TLX).

Parallel to the sale process, ib vogt has initiated the construction of the solar park at a site in the Spanish region of Extremadura.

Bienvenida will be installed on a plot of land spanning 175 hectares (432.4 acres). Once online, the solar park will operate without subsidies, relying only on a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Shell Energy Europe.

Ib vogt acquired the Bienvenida scheme in 2017, saying it is the first of a series of grid parity projects it is developing in Southern Europe.
