Germany's Federal Network Agency has launched two tenders, seeking proposals for 190.11 MW of rooftop solar capacity and 287.85 MW for biomass-fired power plants.
Bids will be accepted by October 2 for both auctions, the power regulator announced this week.
The maximum value of proposals for rooftop solar systems is set at EUR 0.1125 (USD 0.122) per kWh.
This is the last round of the auction for solar installations on buildings and noise barriers for 2023. Overall, Germany planned to allocate a total of 650 MW of capacity in the category this year. The first two rounds awarded 388 MW in total. The first tender fell short of the targeted 217 MW as the selected projects amounted to 195 MW but interest in the competition revived with the second round being significantly oversubscribed.
Bids for new biomass-fired plants in the current auction are capped at EUR 0.1767 per kWh while existing facilities will be supported with up to EUR 0.1983 per kWh. The first round enjoyed strong interest with proposals significantly exceeding the targeted allocation of 300 MW. In the end, 271 bids were selected, totalling 302 MW.
