Germany switched on 273.13 MW of onshore wind, 99 MW of turbines at sea and 691.27 MW of new solar capacity in September, the Federal Network Agency said on Monday.
In terms of newly deployed solar capacity, September was the second-strongest month this year after March when new solar systems exceeding 730 MW were put into operation. More than 60% of the new solar capacity in September, or 420.72 MW, were plants connected to the grid outside of EEG tenders. Ground-mounted stations accounted for only 6.34 MW of these plants.
The deployment of onshore wind power rebounded, registering the highest monthly level since the start of the year after three consecutive months of decline.
In September, biomass-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 1.43 MW went online in Germany. In the first nine months of the year, the new biomass capacity across the country reached 18.98 MW.
