German Wuerth Solar says Farsala solar plant reaches 5 MW capacity

Oct 21, 2011 - German photovoltaic (PV) systems provider Wuerth Solar announced on Thursday its solar power plant located in Farsala, Greece, has reached its full load capacity of 5 MW.

Wuerth Solar, which was the general contractor for the project, commissioned the plant at the end of December 2010 and connected it to the Greek grid at the beginning of January.

The plant covers the annual energy requirements of more than 1,600 households and offsets around 3,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, Wuerth Solar said.
