(SeeNews) – Jul 30, 2012 - German CIGS thin-film panel producer Solarion AG opened a new production plant near Leipzig last Friday.
The annual production of the facility will be 20 MW of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) panels.
The total investment in the construction, which started in May 2011, amounted to EUR 60 million (USD 73.6m), the company said. The project has received state investment grants of EUR 20 million.
The first production line will manufacture both rigid and flexible CIGS panels.
The new plant, based in the town of Zwenkau, will employ a total of 150.
