Oct 18, 2011 - Siemens Energy, part of German engineering group Siemens AG (ETR:SIE), connected to the grid Les Mees solar park in southern France, the company said yesterday.
Siemens installed six turnkey photovoltaic (PV) power plants for its customer Eco Delta Developpement (EDD), whose subsidiary Delta Solar developed the photovoltaic (PV) park in Les Mees.
The solar plants, with a peak capacity of 31 MW, will be sufficient to meet the needs of about 12,000 households.
The PV installtion consists of 112,000 solar modules covering an area of 70 hectares (173 acres).
As part of the contract, Siemens will handle the maintenance of the facilities.
