German K&S to inspect quality of 100 MW solar project in Brandenburg
(SeeNews) – Jul 31, 2012 – German technical consultancy K & S Ingenieurpartnerschaft Krug & Schram said yesterday it was hired to inspect the 100 MW Jocksdorf-Preschen solar project in Brandenburg.
K & S will carry out extensive technical tests of the photovoltaic (PV) systems and will clarify technical issues if any arise. The inspection will include examination of the documentation of the project and the supply orders to ensure that all requirements of the construction permits are met and the components are delivered as agreed. Through the continuous monitoring of the construction and factory acceptance tests the company hopes to reduce quality defects to a possible minimum from the start, K & S said.
As an independent expert, K&S has already inspected photovoltatic plants with a total capacity of 190 MW so far in 2012. Due to the decreasing costs of PV systems and technology, new challenges arise for technical auditors in terms of quality assurance and testing, K&S said.
