East Energy, utility to use green H2 to decarbonise district heating in Brandenburg
Jul 01, 2022 15:43 CESTFebruary 21 (Renewables Now) - German energy solution provider Emerging Energy Corporation (EEC) will cooperate with the government of the Republic of Niger to explore and develop commercial green hydrogen projects in the West African country.
As part of the newly-signed agreement, EEC will also invest in various projects to decarbonise oil field operations and refineries in Niger through the use of carbon capture technologies. This will be in addition to relying on electrolysis for the production of green hydrogen from renewable power sources.
The partners’ intention is to make Niger a hub for green hydrogen production in the region. No details were given about specific projects.
Centurion International AG has acted as the lead advisor on the transaction.
