German Gehrlicher Solar starts construction of 34 MW solar parkt
Dec 20, 2011 - German solar technology company Gehrlicher Solar AG announced today it had initiated the construction of a 34 MW solar power plant located at Germany’s former military Perleberg Airport in the state of Brandenburg.
The plant is expected to be connected to the German grid in May 2012, Gehrlicher Solar said.
The solar plant, which is the biggest in the company's history so far, will be producing around 32.7 million KWh of clean electricity per year, which will be enough to cover the energy needs of more than 9,300 three-person households. Once completed, the plant will offset around 32,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
