Aug 11, 2014 - German renewable energy producer and supplier Naturstrom AG saw its revenues rise to EUR 234 million (USD 313m) in 2013 from EUR 200 million a year earlier, mainly thanks to energy sales, it said on Saturday.
The firm’s net profit grew by EUR 7.1 million over 2012 figures. It will again distribute a dividend of EUR 0.25 per share, the same as in the previous two years.
In 2013, Naturstrom sold 913 million kWh as part of its electricity wholesale business, up from 850 million kWh in 2012. As of the end of the year it was supplying renewable electricity to nearly 240,000 residential, business and institutional customers. Meanwhile, biogas sales jumped to 111 million kWh from 87 million kWh and the number of customers here grew to 10,600 from 8,600.
Naturstrom said it would keep investing in additional renewable energy capacity. It is already building solar and wind parks and plans more projects in 2015.
At the Annual General Meeting, Naturstrom’s board also received approval for a proposed share capital increase to EUR 24.4 million. The plan does not envisage the issuance of new share.
